On May 17, Castleton Elementary School hosted a Special Olympics Young Athletes culminating event for CES students and Questar III BOCES Paul Puccio School students who participated in the Special Olympics New York Young Athletes Program over the last few months!

This special event celebrated the efforts and determination of these students, all of who worked hard to develop various social and gross motor skills through Young Athletes programming. The students engaged in multiple activities that promoted turn-taking, patience and working together, all while being cheered on by their families and district faculty/staff. The event concluded with each student being recognized for their achievements with a medal given to them by Schodack School Resource Officer Eckel.

It’s been great expanding the district’s partnership with Special Olympics New York this year and we look forward to continuing it!
